My Priorities

At the Minnesota School Board Association Annual Conference

Build on our Successes

Our district has a lot to be proud of; talented educators & staff, strong programs, and a real focus on student success. I believe we can keep that momentum going while finding new ways to grow. That means continuing to invest in what’s working and expanding access to those opportunities for every student. Success should be the standard, not the exception, and I’m committed to making that a reality for all learners.

Every student brings something unique to the classroom, and every one of them deserves the tools and support to thrive. For me, closing the achievement gap means being proactive; making sure resources are equitably distributed, building strong connections between students and staff, and tailoring learning to meet students where they are. When we focus on what students need, we open the door to what they’re capable of achieving.

Close the Achievement Gap
Celebrate the Diversity in our Communities

The rich diversity of our community isn’t just something to acknowledge, it’s something to actively embrace in our schools. Representation in curriculum, staff, and programming helps students feel like they belong and that their stories matter. I will continue to advocate for inclusive practices that reflect who our students are and affirm the value they bring to the classroom and beyond.

Graduation is a milestone, but it’s also a launching pad. We need to make sure students leave our schools confident and prepared, whether they’re headed to college, a trade, the military, or straight into a career. That means staying focused on engagement, early intervention, and meaningful support systems that help every student get across the stage and into their next chapter.
